Norton House Hotel Wedding – Amy and Luke’s Day

As busy Norton House Wedding Photographers, we’re lucky enough to capture wedding photography at the very best wedding venues and this is certainly the case when we returned to capture Amy & Luke’s wedding at Norton House Hotel.  Amy and Luke chose the perfect venue for their Spring wedding in Swansea.

On the day, we headed out early to catch up with Amy and her bridal party, who were getting ready at home.  The bridal party were so friendly, including the couple’s cat who, with a houseful, was taking the chance to get a bit of extra fuss.  The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement as everybody made their preparations and there was a bit of bubbly on hand to get the celebrations off to an early start.  The bridal party consisted of Amy, Amy’s mum, her bridesmaids and her flower girls.  I got some great bridal prep images.

Amy looked incredible in a stunning dress with spaghetti straps, a sweetheart neckline and soft layers of skirt in an A-line shape giving Amy a fairy-tale princess shape and an amazing silhouette in all of our images.   Amy bought the dress at the bridal boutique Perfection Bridal and teamed it with an elegant veil that just melted into the back of the dress.  Amy’s hair had been elegantly styled in an updo by hairstylist Courtney Jade and professional make-up artist Charlotte Bellham had Amy’s make-up looking flawless.

Amy’s bridesmaids looked elegant in navy dresses, and her two flower girls looked sweet in white.  Amy carried a simple posy of white flowers with soft blue hues that were created by the clever team at Simply Elegant Weddings & Events, who did all of the flowers and styling on the day.  Before heading off, we took some great images of the bridal party, all dressed and ready to go.

Wedding ceremony

The wedding Ceremony was held in St David’s Church in the village of Llangyfelach.   This Grade II listed historically rich church can trace its foundations back to the 6th century and has a separate bell tower.  And Amy travelled there in style in a gorgeous Phantom Rolls Royce hired from Phantom Prestige Car Hire.

It’s always said that it’s a bride’s prerogative to be late on her wedding day, but organised Amy turned up 25 minutes early before many of the guests had arrived.  The vicar turned her away so that she could come back and make a proper entrance.  Still, there are worse ways to kill time than being chauffeured in a stunning Phantom Rolls Royce wedding car.

This gave us a chance to catch up with Luke and his groom’s party, who all looked very smart in petrol blue suits, with grey waistcoats from Dyfed Menswear that they complimented with smart brown brogue shoes.  And we got some great images of them and guests approaching the church.

After a lovely ceremony, everybody headed back outside and there was a fun confetti moment, followed by guests congratulating Amy and Luke.  There were lots of hugs and we captured some really lovely moments.  We also took our chance to get some great images of Amy and Luke by the phantom Rolls Royce with St David’s famous belltower, making the perfect backdrop.

Couple photos at Clyn Gardens

We then headed to Clyne Gardens for a mini photoshoot with Amy and Luke and got some romantic images of them on their famous Japanese bridge and in amongst the mature trees.

Norton House

In the mean time everybody had headed to Norton House Hotel for the reception.   We always love returning to capture wedding photography at Norton House Hotel in Mumbles.  Who could fail to be impressed by this stunning Georgian country House Hotel with beautiful gardens  It’s a real favourite with us Swansea wedding photographers.  Inside, its charming period features, including Georgian windows that throw tons of light into the rooms, are subtly blended with all the modern comforts and conveniences you would expect from a premier South Wales wedding venue.

On arrival, guests enjoyed a drinks reception and we took some great images of the wedding party in the garden.  And some images of Amy and Luke on and around Norton House’s elegant staircase, with one of them at the bottom of the staircase looking up, producing our favourite image of the day.  Here, take a look!

Natural and creative wedding photography in Swansea

The wedding reception was held in Norton House Hotel’s elegant dining room, which had been dressed exquisitely, tables had crisp white linen with floral arrangements and the white-dressed chairs had blue sashes.  There followed a sumptuous wedding breakfast and some very well-received speeches.

Evening celebrations start with a sparkler serenade, we love sparklers at weddings, they add a bit of excitement and make for great images.  Here, take a look!

This was followed by a romantic first dance for Amy and Luke, and then the cutting of the most amazing five-tiered (yes, count them – five!) wedding cake that was made by the talented Bespoke Bella Cakes.  It also had a personalised cake topper made by Feats of Clay.

With the disco kicking in and evening celebrations getting started, it was time for us to take our leave not long after first dance had finished.  We had a great time capturing Amy and Luke’s spring wedding at Norton House Hotel.  Congratulations to both of you, and thank you for allowing us to tell the story of your wedding day.
